阿滴「3分鐘全英語片、公開信」致WHO 蔡英文感動說話了

【看英文中國郵報學英文】知名YouTuber「阿滴」昨（10）日發布全英文影片及中英文公開信，呼籲世界衛生組織（WHO) 讓台灣成為會員國，不到半天影片觀看人次突破54萬，總統蔡英文隨後亦轉發貼文表示感謝。

Ray Du, a famous Taiwanese YouTuber, voiced his support for the inclusion of Taiwan in the World Health Organization (WHO) in a video published on Monday, titled “An open letter to the World Health Organization,” which was later shared by President Tsai Ing-wen.

阿滴開頭先介紹自己是來自台灣的YouTuber，接著表示武漢肺炎被列為全球衛生緊急事件後，許多世衛核心會員國的元首及官員們，陸續公開呼籲讓台灣至少能以觀察員的身份參與WHO，「身為一個台灣人，我認為我們也必須站出來替自己發聲。」

After introducing himself, Ray interpellated some public leaders who have spoken up for Taiwan’s participation in the WHO. “As a Taiwanese citizen, I feel like it’s imperative that we also speak up for ourselves,” he said.

阿滴指出，台灣擁有全球最佳的健保制度，還有與其他先進國家並駕齊驅的醫療水準。透過台灣的全民健康覆蓋、衛生應急響應、專業的醫療訓練，台灣能幫助世界。

The YouTuber pointed out that Taiwan has the best health care system and advanced medical technology on par with other international economies. Besides, Taiwan can contribute to global health with its universal health coverage, top health emergency response, and professional medical training, he added.

對於世衛可能會以「中國已經代表台灣參加世界衛生組織了」反駁，對此，阿滴強調，台灣在地理位置的區隔下有獨立的疾病控管系統和航空交通管制，這說明了為什麼世界衛生組織在處理冠狀病毒的疫情時更應該對台灣和中國採取不同的應對方式。

Ray stressed that Taiwan has an independent disease control system and air traffic management, which justifies why the WHO must take different approaches to deal with Taiwan and China amid the virus outbreak.

最後，阿滴表示台灣站在對抗肺炎病毒最前線，「將我們排除在外，即代表忽視將近2400萬的台灣人民與全球人口的生命安全，身為一個台灣人、同時也是全球人民的一分子，我向你們請求讓台灣加入世界衛生組織。讓我們參與，即是實踐貴組織的願景：健康是基本人權，沒有人該被排除在外。」

To conclude, he said that “Taiwan is at the very frontline battling this coronavirus from China. Excluding us is putting close to 24 million lives and the lives of the global population at risk,” adding, “I’m asking you on behalf of the world to include Taiwan. By allowing our participation in the WHO, you will realize the organization’s vision of health as a basic human right and health for all without exception.”

總統蔡英文也轉發影片表示，「全球防疫網絡不該有破口，政治因素不該凌駕健康權利！」同時感謝阿滴利用網路社群影響力向世界喊話，「爭取參與WHO是台灣全體人民的期盼，請大家一起幫忙，轉發這部影片，把台灣人的聲音傳達給全世界！」

President Tsai shared the video and wrote in a Facebook post that Taiwan’s inclusion in WHO is what every Taiwanese citizen hopes for, so please help share this video to voice support for Taiwan.
