Taiwan is now the second safest country in the world, after Qatar, according to the Crime Index by Country 2020 Mid-Year survey compiled by visitors, who voted on 133 countries/territories globally.

With a score of 84.74 out of 100 for safety, many foreigners have taken to Twitter to voice their support and share their past experience of losing stuff while staying in Taiwan.

In a Twitter thread started by journalist William Yang, he wrote that “Taiwan is where people will chase after you if cash or credit card fall out of your pocket or if your cellphone was left by the roadside, you can probably still find it or the police station will call you a few hours or a day later about a lost phone.”

Others immediately flocked to the comment section with one saying that Taiwan is so safe he never has to worry if his bag is open or his phone is on the table while reading in public.
