日本超商驚見MIT口罩！在台老外貼文分享引熱議

【看CP學英文】住日本老外Jared Adler近期在推特上欣喜若狂地分享了一包在當地超商買到的「台灣製造」口罩。

Jared Adler, a foreigner living in Japan, recently posted a photo of a pack of face masks he bought at a local 7-Eleven in Japan. He shared his surprise and glee in discovering that they were “Made in Taiwan”.

Adler在推文中表示自己每個禮拜都會去各家超商和藥妝店找口罩，但幾乎所有架上的口罩不是沒有標章就是中國製的。

According to Adler’s tweets, he had been combing local drug stores and convenience stores for face masks every week, but the only equipment he found was either unbranded or made in China.

Adler寫到自己從五月開始只有一次發現日本當地製的口罩，如今發現台灣製的口罩他表示「非常棒」！

In his tweets, Adler explained that he had only come across one type of masks made in Japan since May, and he was extremely happy to have found face masks made in Taiwan.

貼文發出後不久已累積將近700多個讚，也有許多人在推特和Reddit上轉貼留言大讚「台灣在幫忙」也稱台灣製的口罩為「高品質」。

The post garnered more than 700 likes with people sharing praises on both Twitter and Reddit that the face masks are a demonstration that “Taiwan Can Help” and are of “high quality.”

據報導，繼台灣於1月24日開始禁止出口口罩後，供給口罩至日本數年的裕源紡織與政府協調繼續外銷口罩到日本，然而，作為交換條件，裕源紡織必須提供台灣廠商製作更多口罩的布料。

According to reports, following the ban on face masks exports in Jan. 24 by the Taiwanese government, a long-term masks supplier for 7-Elevens in Japan, Yu Yuang Textile Co. Ltd., (裕源紡織) worked out a deal with the government to continue supplying face masks to Japan as long as they provide fabric to produce more in Taiwan.

台灣的口罩在新型冠狀肺炎疫情下持續受到世界關注，在半年期間內捐贈了數百萬的口罩到各國以支撐貨源不足的情況。

Taiwan’s face masks have become increasingly popular amid the COVID-19 pandemic as the country donated millions worldwide to help meet global surging demands.

口罩外交也在美國發揚光大，就連配合防疫政策的白宮官員都被拍到帶著印有「台灣製造」的口罩參加記者會。

The donations were put to good use as even White House officials were seen wearing “MIT” face masks during a press conference when regulations were put in place.

繼疫情爆發以來，台灣有效地控制境內感染病例，於6月1日解除口罩出口禁令。在世界擔憂著第二波疫情侵襲時，台灣製的「高品質」口罩肯定能幫上忙！

Since the outbreak, Taiwan has managed to quell local infections, subsequently lifting the face mask export ban on June 1. As fears of a second wave of the virus arise, Taiwan’s “high-quality” face masks are sure to be a big help.
