You’ve probably seen this photo of a sunset hanging low over Taipei 101 a million times, but still don’t know where the picture is taken. Just like the headline indicates, to capture this beautiful sunset pic of Taipei 101, one only has to head to Xizhi District’s Tian Xiu Temple.

However, this one photo isn’t really enough for you to boast about. That’s why, we will introduce here, five other places to capture the beauty of Taipei 101 in Taipei City. Not only will you have easy access to public transportation, but also will be able to capture professional-level pictures that will impress even the most veteran photographers.

台北101是台灣最具知名度的地標，無論是來自哪裡的旅客，都不免要拍一張與台北101的合照。本期Discover Taiwan整理了幾處拍攝101神角度的旅遊景點，還有一個只有專業攝影師知道的私藏秘密地點，拍到101最珍貴的神角度畫面。

Taipei 101 is one of the most famous landmarks in Taiwan. Unsurprisingly, tourists from all around the world never miss a photo op to capture it. In this issue, Discover Taiwan has listed several attraction spots with the best angles to photograph the looming skyscraper.

On top of that, we will also reveal a secret destination that was previously, only known exclusively among professional photographers to help you take breath-taking pictures of the tallest building in Taiwan.

There are many places to capture great angles of Taipei 101. Discover Taiwan has included the following spots to ensure that even the most amateur photographer can get a professional-looking picture.

國父紀念館 | National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall

國父紀念館是個本地人聚會闔家歡樂之處，也是外國觀光客到台北必到的景點之一。此處最佳拍攝角度 就是在翠湖前，將倒影的101與實際的大樓一併捕捉，照出來的畫面不僅有景深的效果，也能將自然與都市合而為一。

The National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall is a place where people of all ages often go to relax and have fun. It is also a place tourists often visit when traveling in Taiwan. The best spot to capture Taipei 101 at this destination is in front of Green Lake (a.k.a. Lake Tswei/Cui). With Taipei 101 reflected on the lake’s glassy surface, it not only extends the photo, deepening its effect, but also combines both urban and nature in one shot.

四四南村 | Four Four South Village

四四南村是市政府旁的眷村。它保留著以往的日式風格，至今已轉型為文創小店。在此處能拍攝出無遭其他高樓遮蔽的全景，讓台北101顯得更加壯觀。

The Four Four South Village was once a military housing village located beside Taipei City Government. Today, it retained its Japanese architecture, but has been transformed into shops that sell creative products. What makes this the perfect spot for photographing Taipei 101 is that there are no other tall buildings in site; thus, elevating and emphasizing the impressive height of Taipei 101.

象山步道 | Xiangshan Trail

從101門口搭捷運到象山，離市區最近的森林步道秘境。走一小段路，就能抵達最佳拍攝角度：山頂上的大石頭。在此處就能完整拍出台北101及信義鬧區的夜景。

By taking the MRT from Taipei 101 station to Xiangshan station, one can quickly reach the nature pathway border-lining the city. After a short and easy hike, eager photographers will be able to capture Taipei 101 in all its glory standing atop the big rock at the top of the hill. At this very spot, one can not only get a picture of the landmark, but also include the entire view of Xinyi District.

國泰金融中心 | Cathay Financial Center

走在信義百貨商圈步道，邊逛百貨公司血拚，拿手機都可以變攝影大師。從國泰金融中心前面拍，能完整的將台北101捕捉在拱門設計間，在夜色下照更是美。

Walking along the streets of Xinyi Commercial Center, you can shop as well as grab a quick pic with your phone. By standing in front of the Cathay Financial Center, you can fit the entirety of Taipei 101 in between the archway of the bank, creating a perfect photo, better emphasized with a nighttime backdrop.

陶朱隱園 以信義區的豪宅為背景，泰國攝影師以神角度拍攝的台北101紅遍網路，大家才知道有這麼一個不為人知的神角度。站在此地，你也能和Kan Kankavee一樣，在旋轉的建築物背景襯托下，照出一支獨秀的台北101。

One of the most expensive property in Xinyi District is the Agora Garden. Most people came to know this exceptional spot after Thai photographer captured an iconic photo of Taipei 101 situated between the twirling buildings. Standing at this exact spot, you too can be just like Kan Kankavee, and snap a shot of Taipei 101 with the accentuation of the luxury condos.

而秘密地點是哪裡呢？就是汐止大尖山。 | But where is the secret, ultimate spot for capturing the true magnificence of Taipei 101? That’s right! It’s at Xizhi District’s “Big Needle Mountain”.

新北市汐止區的大尖山，又稱「大針山」，除了觀賞自然景觀，大尖山還有個僅限於熟知門道的攝影高手才知道的祕密。只要搭捷運至南港展覽館站，即可搭公車至此地。此處只在每年的某個特定期間，才有機會拍到夕陽串丸子的台北101。

Located in New Taipei City’s Xizhi District, Big Needle Mountain (a.k.a. Dajianshan) is the best place to not only take in nature’s beauty but also provide the best spot known only by veteran photographers to take pictures of Taipei 101.

By taking the MRT to Nangang Exhibition Center, one can merely take a bus to get to this intimate location. There is a catch though; the image of Taipei 101’s sunset kabob can only be captured at specific times of the year. As dusk draws near, eager photographers can set up their equipment either in the area in front of or on the second floor of Tian Xiu Temple to capture the scene of the setting sun.

在傍晚將攝影器具架設在大尖山上天秀宮前的空地或廟的二樓正好能捕捉到逐漸消逝的夕陽。許多人也會選擇在廟附近的彎道上，不僅能拍到被夕陽壟罩的台北101，更能涵蓋到台北市市區的景象。從這裡拍攝，夕陽會剛好落在台北101頂端，看起來就像被串起的黃金魚蛋。

Many visitors also opt to place their cameras on the bend of the road in front of the temple to not only snap a pic of the iconic sunset atop of Taipei 101 but also the view of the entire city.From this angle, the sun will set directly on top of Taipei 101, making it look like the popular dish “spicy golden fish eggs”.
