豐原高中參訪CP媒體環境 學生期待疫情解封能出國

【看CP學英文】臺中市立豐原高中11位高中生於12月18日參訪The China Post(CP)暨今日新聞台北辦公室,學習如何成為一位專業記者。

Eleven students from Fengyuan High School visited The China Post and NOWnews media on Friday to learn what it takes to become a professional journalist.

豐原高中老師陳琳婷日前主動聯繫CP,帶領參與英文新聞寫作工作坊的11位學生來到CP台北內湖辦公室,瞭解新聞領域基本概念、新聞寫作流程,並分享討論青年學子對明年後疫情時期的期待。

Sherry Chen, along with a group of enthusiastic writers paid a visit to NOWnews/The China Post’s Taipei Neihu office on Dec. 18 to learn about journalism, the news writing process, and to share their expectations for the post-Covid-19 era next year.

The editor-in-chief of The China Post, Dimitri Bruyas, who has over 20 years of experience in the media, gave the students an insightful speech and explained the workflow of news rooms in contemporary Taiwan.

最後問答部分,學生們勇於用英文表達個人想法,包括對學習英文的重要性、5年後的自己、未來最大的挑戰、以及明年後疫情時代的期許與計畫。

In the final Q&A session, the students shared their thoughts in English, including the importance of learning English, where they see themselves in five years, their biggest challenges in the future, and their hopes and plans for the post-pandemic era.

其中一名學生Michael表示,英文是溝通的工具,透過語言能瞭解世界上正在發生的事。

One of the students, Michael, remarked that English is an important tool for communication, stressing that one can understand what is happening in the world through language learning.

問及對未來的期許,Cory說希望能成為一位老師,作育英才;也有同學表示目前仍在摸索中,不確定未來方向。

When asked about his plan for the future, Cory said he wants to become a teacher to educate people while some said they are still figuring out their future direction.

談及疫情對生活的影響,有兩位學生Linda、Irene說不喜歡戴口罩,一方面是會影響妝容,另一方面則是對於必須隨時戴著口罩感到疲乏。

When it comes to the impact of the pandemic on their lives, two students, Linda and Irene, said they did not like wearing masks because it would affect their makeup.

One added that “I’m tired of having to wear masks at all times.”

然而,戴口罩雖造成生活上的不便,但Linda仍對台灣防疫表示肯定,「在台灣覺得很安全」。

Despite the inconvenience of wearing a mask, Linda remains positive about Taiwan’s coronavirus prevention, saying “I feel very safe in Taiwan.”

此外,不少同學分享明年後疫情時期的計畫,有兩位同學期待解封後去韓國旅遊,另一位學生Eva則是希望去日本東京。

In addition, many students shared their plans for the post-pandemic era next year. Two students are looking forward to traveling to South Korea after the travel restrictions are lifted, while another student, Eva, is hoping to go to Tokyo, Japan.

透過這次豐原高中與CP合作的產業參訪,莘莘學子們獲益良多,也期待未來學校與媒體能有更多合作交流,讓學生們對媒體產業有更進一步的認識。

Through this visit, the students of the English news writing workshop had an overview of journalism.

The China Post also looks forward to more cooperation with the schools in the future, so that students can have a better understanding of the media industry.
