【看英文中國郵報學英文】昨(24)日傍晚許多人的臉書被棉花糖雲天空美照洗版。而超夢幻棉花糖雲的拍攝地點大多位在北台灣。

Did you notice that the pictures of marshmallow-shaped clouds on your Facebook timeline yesterday? The dreamy scenes were mostly captured in northern Taiwan in the afternoon.

這些雲到底是怎麼形成的呢？其實，棉花糖雲屬於「高積雲」，通常在天氣晴朗且對流旺盛的高空中形成。

But, what is the reason for this beautiful scenery? The marshmallow-shaped clouds belong to the family of Altocumulus clouds, which usually appear in layers or patches. The Altocumulus clouds are formed by convection in an unstable layer aloft.

此外，中央局副局長解釋道，出現「高積雲」表示明天會變天。

Besides, the presence of the Altocumulus clouds is generally followed by changes in weather on the next day, according to the deputy director of the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

氣象局預報，東北季風今(25)日增強，北部及東北部氣溫下降，最低溫可能來到18度上下。

As the northeast monsoon strengthens, the temperature drops in the northern and northeastern Taiwan, with the lowest temperature dipping to 18 degrees Celsius on Nov. 25.
