Apple 聘用了前 BMW 和 Faraday Future 的高管到其電動車團隊

Apple 確認他們成功招募了曾任職 BMW 和 Faraday Future 高管的 Ulrich Kranz 到其電動車團隊。據 Bloomberg 的報導，Kranz 在數週前入職前，就已經跟 Apple 有點淵源。Kranz 在 2017 年離開 BMW 時，曾負責他們首款全電動車款 i3 的開發，後來加入了 Faraday Future，不過待了僅四個月就離開並自立門戶，創立了 Canoo 並推出 MPDV1 電動廂型車。最妙的是，Apple 據指在 2020 年時就把 Canoo 收購下來了。

據 Kranz 的 LinkedIn 所透露，他是在 4 月離開 Canoo，Bloomberg 表示這是「清晰地顯示」Apple 有開發自駕車的計劃。同時還指出 Kranz 會向 Doug Field 匯報，他也是曾負責 Tesla Model 3 開發。

對於 Apple 電動車的開發消息，早在 2014 年就有傳出，後來有指在 2016 年重啟計劃時裁減了「一些」員工，2019 年也再裁減了 190 名人員。同時這個電動車團隊的開發方向，也有多次的變改，由完整的自駕電動車變成自駕平台。不過在眾多的大刀闊斧改革之下，Bloomberg 的 Mark Gurman 還是認為至少要有個 5 年才會有產品面世。
