EXO won Grand Prize at 'The 23rd Seoul Music Awards'

EXO won Grand Prize at 'Seoul Music Awards'.

On January 23rd, 'The 23rd Hi One Seoul Music Awards' took place at Seoul Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium, and a great number of singers, idol groups, and musicians gathered for celebration.

The 'Seoul Music Awards', which first began in 1990, was held annually since then to recognize outstanding achievements in the Korean music industry. The winners get decided based on past year's number of album & track sales, and mobile and ARS vote results.

12 teams who won 'Main Prize' competed against each other for the Grand Prize, and EXO were announced as the final winning group.

EXO, who sold over 1 million copies of their 1st regular album last year, added another trophy to their discography, and were officially ascended to the throne of 'K-Pop King of 2013'.

EXO said, "We are so nervous, excited, and happy," and "We could spend the best year last year, because we were with out fan."

EXO literally were the center of attention at the awards. The audiences made explosive cheers every time the cameras shot the EXO members, and a number of other award winners even showed bewildered looks by the volume of the audiences' screams.

SHINee, who are in the same management agency with EXO, won Main Prize, Korean Wave Special Award, and 'Hi One Mobile/Popularity Award', and Cho Yong Pil, who unfortunately could not make his attendance, won Main Prize and 'Record of the Year'.

The singers who received awards made special performances, and 'Seoul Music Festival' became a K-Pop festival from an ordinary music awards.

Lee Seung Chul, who garnered 'Performance Award', heated the venue by performing 'Don't Say Goodbye', 'My Love', and 'Girls' Generation'.

However, some people expressed complains about a few technical problems occurred during a number of other singers' performances.

Meanwhile, a great number of top K-Pop artists who released new albums in 2013, such as A-Pink, B1A4, B.A.P, Bulletproof Boys, Crayon Pop, VIXX, Kim Ye Lim, K.Will, Dynamic Duo, The One, SISTAR, EXO, 4Minute, INFINITE, Girls' Generation, SHINee, and BEAST, attended this year's 'Seoul Music Awards'.
