First Post-Pandemic Bull Run Held in Pamplona
The first bull runs in three years have begun in the city of Pamplona, Spain, with the post-pandemic return of the San Fermin festival.
Video by French journalist Fabien Jans showed bulls chasing crowds of festival-goers through the streets in the first of the bull runs, on Thursday, July 7.
El Pais, citing the local hospital, said six people needed to be brought in for treatment, but no one was gored.
This was the first of eight early morning bull runs that are followed by cultural events for the rest of the day, according to Spain’s Official Tourism website.
The famous festivities that draw tens of thousands of visitors from around the world were canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Credit: Fabien Jans/Sudouest.fr via Storyful
