State of Emergency Declared Due To Flooding in Ohio's Port Clinton

Strong winds swept through parts of northern Ohio, causing large swells from Lake Eerie to flood Port Clinton on May 28.

Footage shared by the Port Clinton Yacht Club, located on Lake Erie’s shoreline, shows flooding at the club and surrounding streets, as strong winds continue to whip up swells onto the shore.

Mayor Mike Snider declared a flood disaster state of emergency for Port Clinton, citing impassable roads due to high water and downed trees and power lines.
