1. 推動十二年國教，全國家長團體聯盟呼籲教育部，應該對私校進行納管，尤其受補助的私校要遵守十二年國教的遊戲規則，並朝公共化發展。教育部強調，增加私校的公共化是既定政策，受補助的私校必須接受評鑑的考驗，不可能只拿補助不受約束。

NAPO calls upon the Ministry of Education to include the private schools in the management of 12-year compulsory education, especially the ones being subsidized. They should obey the regulation of the program and develop themselves to fit in with the public demands. MOE emphasized that increasing the public demands is a necessary policy. The schools being supported should be evaluated by the accreditation.

2. 由國立中興大學與陽明大學共同主辦的「人才延攬及留任」高等教育論壇，昨天(5)在中興大學舉行。教育部政務次長林聰明表示，為了延攬國際人才及留住國內的人才，薪水要彈性，工作環境及相關的配套措施，都需要改進，教育部已經組成專案小組，針對這個課題擴大鬆綁相關法規。

The higher education forum for talent-recruiting and employment held by National 中興 and 陽明University took place in 中興University yesterday. Political vice minister of the Ministry of Education 林聰明 said that the salary should be discussible and the working environment and relevant supplementary measures should be improved to attract more international talents and stay more internal ones. MOE has organized a team to deal with the legislation of relaxing the former rules.

3. 為提升技學生的英語程度，教育部技職司長李彥儀在101年全國技專校校長會議中宣布，從103學年度起，在統一入學測驗中，英語科將採取非選擇題方式測驗。她表示，從國中基測開始，到教育會考都有英語聽力測驗， 104年的學測也增加英語聽力部分，因此，技專校院將為學生英語聽力把關，從103學年度起英語採非選擇題的測驗方式。

To enhance technological and vocational college students’ English level, director of department of technological and vocational education 李彥儀 announced during 2012 National Technological and Vocational Principals’ Conference that English test will be conducted by non-choice testing questions in the entrance examination. She indicated that English listening test are included from the Basic Competence Test for Junior High School Students to the joint entrance examination. And it will be also added in the competence test in 2015. As a result, English listening ability become more important for the students who want to get admissions of technological and vocational schools.

4. 國立自然科學博物館與日本高知縣立牧野植物園合作進行索羅門群島資源植物調查，不但發現新物種「索羅門昂天蓮」，臺灣、索羅門群島、日本三方代表昨天（5）正式簽約，從今年起展開為期五年的索羅門群島植物調查與保存工作，希望讓世界看見臺灣對國際自然保育的付出與貢獻。

National Museum of Natural Science cooperates with the Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden to make an investigation toward the plant resource in Solomon islands and discover new species. Taiwan, Solomon islands and Japan formally signed a contract yesterday to begin the investigation and preservation works for five years which shows the efforts and contribution to international natural conservation.

5. 紫錐花，產於中南美洲，具有消炎解毒提升自體免疫力的功能，是印第安人傳統草葯。教育部軍訓處在國內發起「紫錐花運動」，希望藉由紫錐花消炎解毒的特質，提醒國人拒絕毒害；教育部更要從臺灣發聲進而影響全球，一同拒絕毒品危害。

Purple coneflower, a traditional herbal medicine of Indian, born in central and south America is used on reducing inflammation and enhancing immunity. Department of Military Training Education raises a coneflower campaign to remind people to keep poison away by its distinguishing characteristic. Moreover, the MOE hopes to start promoting it locally and then to the whole world.

6.印度教育部中等教育委員會決定從2012-2013學年度起，將英語說及聽的能力測驗，列為所屬學校英語課程的教學重點工作，以提升學生英語說聽能力及英語溝通技巧。中等教育委員會認為，今日的世界公民已經沒有明顯的國家與國際社會的界線，良好的英語溝通能力是成功不可或缺的工具，英語說聽能力應該從小就開始培養。

To enhance the students’ English communication abilities, Indian Central Board of Secondary Education have made a decision that English speaking and listening proficiency test will be included in the key courses of the English curriculums from 2012. The High School Education Committee considers that there is no obvious demarcation line among the countries all over the world nowadays. Having good English communication ability is necessary and it should have been learned since the students’ childhood, the committee said.
