China's PLA has recently undertaken helicopter patrols over Pangong Tso, part of which lies in the Tibet region, amid reports of redeployment of troops and fresh military build-up along the disputed border with India.

PLA helicopters Z-10, Mi-171, and Z-20 conducted patrols from Ngari Heliport over Pangong Tso. The patrols were part of the series of combat-oriented exercises, such as low-air defense penetration, undertaken by PLA Xinjiang Military Command's army aviation troops. The area where the helicopter drill took place is approximately 86km east of Finger 4 mountainous spur on the north bank of Pangong Tso.

It's worth mentioning the PLA's aggression on Finger 4 on May 5, 2020, had sparked off the military tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and the subsequent border standoff.

The two countries have just concluded nine rounds of military-level talks but there has been no breakthrough yet.

值得一提的是，共軍曾於2020年5月5日入侵「第4指」區，引發「中」印邊境實際控制線沿線的軍事緊張局勢，以及繼之而來的邊境對峙。

「中」印兩方甫結束9場軍事層級的會談，但尚未有任何突破進展。
