STORY: Apple is pulling the plug on the iPod after 20 years
The device was launched in 2001 and became the face of portable music
before being eclipsed by smartphones, online music streaming
and the rise of the iPhone, which was launched in 2007
FORMER APPLE HEAD STEVE JOBS, SAYING:
"The iPod touch is the best portable device for listening to music. It's clearly the best portable device for watching video."
The iPod has undergone several iterations since its inception
featuring a scroll wheel, storage for 1,000 songs, and a 10-hour battery-life
The iPod Touch is currently the only version still being sold
and will be available till supplies last, Apple says
