As average US gasoline price jumps 39 cents, Sacramento drivers, boaters feel the impact as summer nears

The average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline spiked 39 cents over the past three weeks to $5.10 per gallon. And in California, it's even higher. The current average for a regular gallon of gasoline in California is $6.43, according to data from AAA. One year ago, the average was $4.22. It's not just drivers who are feeling the sting of those record-breaking prices. As summer approaches, boaters are now feeling the impact. “It’s crazy how expensive they are,” said Justin Bonneau. “I just spent $300 on filling up my truck and the boat here.”
