Baby Is Overjoyed Hearing Mother's Voice for the First Time

Baby Tucker was born deaf on February 13, 2018. Just over one year later, he underwent a nine-hour procedure that would change his life forever.

Tucker attended Our Lady of the Lake Hearing and Balance Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was given cochlear implants. After four weeks of recovery, his implants were activated, on March 19. His family gathered at the center to be with Tucker as he heard his first sounds.

Mom Jill Hudson GIll published the heartwarming moment on Facebook and told Storyful, "Our whole family was able to be there as he heard his first sounds and it was overwhelming in the best way.

“He’s silly, mischievous, always happy, and makes friends with every person he meets. We are already having so much fun watching him experience new sounds every day,” she added. Credit: Jill Hudson Gill via Storyful
