Biggest team ever prepares for 'Super Plunge' 2023
The Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics is coming up next week, but the appetizer to the event is the Super Plunge. On Jan. 27, the largest Super Plunge team ever will jump into the Chesapeake Bay 24 times in 24 hours at Sandy Point State Park. Special Olympics Maryland President and CEO Jim Schmutz got an early start jumping into the Chesapeake Bay as super plungers Will Kelly and his athlete partner, Peris Bennett, watched from the beach, both thinking about what lies ahead, because on Jan. 27, they'll be plunging around the clock.
