Blue Origin Rocket Fails After Launch, Triggers Capsule Escape System

A rocket launched by Blue Origin, the spaceflight company owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, experienced “booster failure” seconds after taking off from West Texas on September 12, prompting the abortion of the uncrewed flight, the company said.

Blue Origin said the booster on its New Shepard rocket failed, triggering a capsule escape system that “performed as designed,”, separating the capsule from the rocket and allowing it to parachute to safety while booster crashed into the ground.
