California thunderstorms explained: Here's what it takes to get a thunderstorm to develop
The latest storm has brought wind, rain and snow to Northern California and Wednesday afternoon we may see a few thunderstorms as the center of this storm lingers off the coast. The reason for this unstable weather is because of the temperatures. Not because it is so cold or certainly not because it is going to get warm, but because of the difference in temperature between the surface and the air above. Meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn explains.
