'Catastrophic' Hurricane Idalia Makes Landfall in Florida's Big Bend

Hurricane Idalia made landfall near Keaton Beach, Florida, on the morning of Wednesday , August 30, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) confirmed.

The Category 3 hurricane was packing winds of up to 125 mph, bringing “catastrophic storm surge and damaging winds” to the state’s Big Bend region, the NHC said.
