Chengdu Roads Empty as City Enters COVID Lockdown

Central Chengdu was deserted on Friday, September 2, video showed, after Chinese authorities announced a COVID-19 lockdown starting on Thursday afternoon.

Footage recorded outside the Sichuan Science and Technology Museum shows an empty street.

Chinese media reported that the lockdown of the city had come into effect on Thursday at 6 pm.
