Country music star Toby Keith announces stomach cancer diagnosis

NPR reports country music star Toby Keithhas been diagnosed with stomach cancer. The singer announced on June 12 that he had undergone surgery and received chemotherapy and radiation in the last six months. "So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax." Keith, a native of Oklahoma, turns 61 in July. Keith's touring status for the rest of the year is currently on hold. According to his website, Keith's next scheduled performance is set for June 17 in Wheaton, Illinois. "I am looking forward to spending this time with my family."
