E. Coli found in Prospect Lake closed by Colorado Springs Park and Rcreation

Prospect lake in Memorial Park is closed because recent tests showed high levels of e. Coli bacteria. The City of Colorado Springs closed the lake today to swimming, paddle boarding, and any non-motorized boat. Fishing areas are open but you're urged to clean fish well and remove their guts. The colorado department of public health and environment says -- elevated e. coli levels can come from fecal waste or excessive runoff. The lake is tested weekly. More test results are expected tomorrow. We will let you know what those results reveal.
