Filipino couple braced flood waters on wedding day

STORY: Speaking to Reuters in an interview, organized by the wedding planner AGEM, the couple said they expected problems because of typhoon Doksuri.

The bride, Dianne Victoriano - Padilla, said she struggled to keep her balance as she waded through the water and up the church aisle. But she was delighted to see that the guests were there too having braved the wet conditions to see the couple tie the knot.

Several guests including the groom, Paulo Jayvee Padilla were seen wearing rubber shoes to protect their feet in the flooded church.

Eyewitness footage shared by the groom's cousin showed the bride, groom and their families walking down the flooded aisle as guests cheered.

The Philippines, an archipelago of more than 7,600 islands, was last week hit by Typhoon Doksuri which brought winds of up to 175 km an hour (108 miles an hour) to its northern and most populated Luzon island.
