DAN WETZEL: How crushing with this loss be for Duke? I don't think it'd be that crushing for Carolina.
PAT FORDE: No.
DAN WETZEL: I kind of feel like they're on house money. They weren't supposed to be here. Believe me, a Final Four loss is a Final Four loss. They're always gonna hurt.
PAT FORDE: Yeah.
DAN WETZEL: But I think the crush factor is worse for Duke.
PAT FORDE: No doubt. There's no doubt. Duke's gonna-- I don't know whether there's a line out yet. I'm sure there is. I'm sure they're favored by, what, three, four, five points, I'm gonna guess, Duke is. And I think they're the better team. I think they've always been the better team, regardless of what happened in Cameron.
I think it would have been fun to see a rematch in the ACC tournament. But this is far better, obviously. I mean, this is massive. And to have it in the national semifinal and give Duke a week to marinate in this and hear all over again about how they blew that game in Cameron? I think this is advantage, Blue Devils, all over the place.
And that's not to say-- you know, Carolina is playing great. And Armando Bacot is just a freaking load. He is a collision waiting to happen in the middle.
He's running into somebody all the time, and people are falling down. Elbows are coming up high. People are getting tripped. Everyone's getting angry. I mean, he's got some WWE in him.
But Mark Williams has been playing awesome at center for Duke. He's just more talented. He's not as quite as physically, you know, imposing. But he's so long, and he jumps really well, and then, Banchero, 6'10", 250.
So they've got an advantage inside, and they've got an advantage outside, because I think their guards are better, too. And Carolina's guards are good. But this is one of those classic Carolina teams. Like, they've got four good starters-- really good-- Caleb Love, RJ Davis, Brady Manek, widespread Manek, and Bacot.
But then, they've got Leaky Black, who, to me, this is like the Carolina heritage from Dean Smith, starting Scott Cherry and Roy Williams starting whoever. It's like there's always one starter, you're like, why is he the starter?
And the Carolina head coach loves him. And Hubert Davis loves Leaky Black. And I don't think this is a good game for Leaky Black. I'm not sure where he fits into the mix in terms of the level of talent on the floor. So I say advantage, Blue Devils.
