Black Protesters Deface BLM Mural Outside Trump Tower in New York
Protesters who used black paint to deface a Black Lives Matter mural in front of Trump Tower in New York on July 18 were detained by police, reports said.
In these videos, a woman is seen dumping black paint over the mural and saying, “refund our police.”
“No, we’re not standing with Black Lives Matter. We want our police. Refund our police,” the woman says.
Another woman was seen protesting, saying: “This demon of Black Lives Matter is going to end today. This is my country.”
Reports said an NYPD officer was injured when he slipped in the paint while trying to detain the protesters.
One of the protesters, Bevelyn Beatty, posted to Facebook saying she and another woman had been released by the New York Police Department after being detained for defacing the mural. The protesters then went on to vandalize another Black Lives Matter mural in Brooklyn later that day. Credit: @kolotography via Storyful
