German residents cool off during heatwave

STORY: Frankfurt and Berlin residents are cooling off during a heatwave with temperatures of up to 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit).

Some residents in Frankfurt took a dip at outdoor swimming pools, with many enjoying the summer sun as they sunbathed and went for a swim.

In Berlin people were enjoying ice-cream, with one ice-shop vendor explaining how difficult it is to work during such high temperatures.

The German Meteorological Service has warned of a high probability of wild fires in Germany, due to the extreme heat. Germany has seen several wild fire outbreaks in July, as have other European countries.
