Golden Aspens Line Breckinridge Trail as Falls Comes Early in Colorado

Colorado’s beloved aspens turned gold about a week early this year, according to local media, ahead of the Autumn Equinox on Tuesday, September 22.

Video shared on Monday from Breckinridge, in Colorado’s central mountains, by Melissa Neal shows a wood of golden-leafed aspens lining a trail. “Golden aspens as far as the eye can see,” Neal wrote.

The Denver Post said the color change starts in the state’s northern mountains, followed by the central and then southern ranges. Credit: Melissa Neal via Storyful
