Grocery Store in Beaumont Boarded Up in Preparation for Hurricane Laura
Residents of Beaumont, Texas, prepared homes and businesses ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Laura on Tuesday, August 25, according to local reports.
The storm is expected to make landfall in Texas and Louisiana on Thursday morning as a category three, or “major” hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Reports said Jefferson County, which includes the city of Beaumont, issued mandatory evacuation orders on Tuesday. Local news reported “most” of the people they talked to on Tuesday said they planned to evacuate that night.
