Heavy Snowfall Blankets Calgary as Storm Slams Alberta

A snowfall warning was in effect for Calgary on December 22 as the city was forecast to be blanketed with six to 10 inches of snow by the afternoon.

Officials warned of “changing and deteriorating travel conditions” as some areas in southern Alberta were also predicted to see up to 20 inches of snow. At least two flights were forced to divert to Edmonton before midnight, local reports said.
