Horseshoe Crabs Take Over Delaware Beach as Spawning Season Peaks

Horseshoe crabs were seen spawning under a full moon at Delaware Seashore State Park, in striking video filmed on Tuesday, June 14.

Video released by Delaware Seashore State Park shows the crabs. Officials captioned the video, “What a beautiful evening last night for our full moon horseshoe crab walk!”

The Delaware Bay hosts the world’s largest concentrations of spawning horseshoe crabs, according to the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife.
