Italian Police Bust Car Window to Save Dog Amid Hot Naples Weather

Italian police smashed a window of a locked car in Naples to save a dog trapped inside during hot weather on August 2.

Polizia di Stato said the temperature inside the car was around 41 C (105 F). The Labrador belonged to foreign tourists, according to local news reports.

“Having been rescued by breaking the window, [the dog] was rehydrated and immediately given” to veterinarians with the Azienda Sanitaria Locale (local health authority). “The owners have been reported,” the police said. Credit: Polizia di Stato via Storyful
