Kentucky Governor Declares State of Emergency Amid Severe Weather

Dark storm clouds moved into Campbellsville, Kentucky, as the National Weather Service issued thunderstorm warnings for the area on January 1.

Footage posted on Facebook by James Phelps shows clouds rolling into Campbellsville.

Gov Andy Beshear declared a State of Emergency on Saturday due to “a powerful severe weather system generating heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail and strong straight-line winds impacting much of Western, Eastern and South Central Kentucky.”
