Kentucky Resident Surveys Damage in Letcher County Following Historic Flooding

Damaged buildings and debris were seen in eastern Kentucky after deadly flooding struck the region in late July, killing at least 37 people, officials said.

On August 8, US President Joe Biden visited areas worst-affected by the flooding and met with Kentucky Gov Andy Beshear to discuss ongoing emergency relief.

This footage show scenes in the small town of Neon in Letcher County on August 6.

The town’s mayor, Susie Polis, told local media that the city hall and local church were among the buildings damaged by the floods. Credit: Anonymous via Storyful
