Moose Calf Relocated After Locals Get 'Dangerously Close' by Petting and Feeding
An abandoned moose calf had to be relocated after wildlife management said locals in Grand Lake, Colorado, got “dangerously close” to the animal by petting and feeding it.
Footage posted by Colorado Parks and Wildlife on March 14 shows the yearling being released from a trailer.
“The decision was made to move her outside of town because she was too comfortable near humans,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife said. “We can’t stress this enough. Moose, especially calves, are not pets. Not only is it illegal to feed and touch wildlife, but it’s also dangerous for you and them,” the agency said. Credit: CPW NW Region via Storyful
