Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. movie delayed until 2023

Polygon reports that Nintendo's animated Super Mario Bros. movie will be delayed until spring 2023. The creator of Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto, personally announced the delay on Nintendo of America's Twitter account. According to Miyamoto, he and co-producer Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri made the decision to delay the movie together. "After consulting with Chris-san, my partner at Illumination on the Super Mario Bros. film, we decided to move the global release to Spring 2023 – April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America."
