Ottawa River Rises Steadily as Flood Relief Efforts Continue

Officials in Canada said water levels in the Ottawa River continued to steadily rise in Ottowa on Thursday, May 2, and was expected to peak on Friday.

The City of Ottawa issued a State of Emergency the previous week. CTV News Ottawa reported that residents, volunteers and the military had spent two weeks filling sandbags and preparing for the rise of the river.
