Plane Crash Leaves Thousands of Atlanta-Area Residents Without Power

A single-engine plane crash-landed on a road in Decatur, Georgia, on Thursday, November 4, leaving about 2,500 nearby residents without power, local media reported.

This livestream filmed by Robbi Warren shows DeKalb County firefighters on the scene, where a local emergency medical technician had witnessed the crash, CBS46 reported.

The pilot, who was the only person in the plane, safely evacuated the wreckage. No injuries have been reported at this time, according to CBS46.

According to a statement released by the FAA, the pilot took off from DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Chamblee before declaring an emergency and landing on North Decatur Road at 9:53 am on Thursday.
