Rivers of Red Lava Flow From La Palma's Cumbre Vieja Volcano

A drone video posted on Twitter shows rivers of hot lava flowing on the Cumbre Vieja volcano following an eruption on November 4 in La Palma, Spain.

The volcano began erupting on September 19. As of November 7, lava had covered 994.6 hectares (roughly 3.84 square miles) on the island, according to the European Union’s Copernicus satellite program. Analysts with Copernicus determined that volcanic activity had destroyed 2,594 buildings.
