Shoppers Report Busy Gun Stores in Las Vegas Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Gun stores were among the Las Vegas businesses experiencing a busy Saturday on March 14, as residents stocked up on food and supplies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, local media reported.

Twitter user @Pepkilla shared this footage from Freedom Firearms in Las Vegas, which she said she filmed on Saturday afternoon.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that while residents stocked up on supplies from supermarkets and big-box retailers, gun stores were also busier than usual, with Mark Hames, a local gun-store owner, reporting that customers were mostly looking for “home protection-type shotguns.”

Storyful contacted Freedom Firearms but they declined to comment on if they experienced a surge in business as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
