A late-season snowstorm brought heavy snow to California’s Sierra Nevada mountain range on Thursday, April 21, making for dangerous travel in higher elevations, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.
On Thursday morning, the Sierra Avalanche Center located in Truckee, northern California, issued an avalanche warning for backcountry areas throughout the greater Tahoe area.
