Sun Creates Lava-Like 'Firefall' on Yosemite's Horsetail Fall

An alignment of the elements created the perfect viewing spot for Yosemite National Park’s “firefall” phenomenon on February 25.

The striking event, which happens between mid to late February each year, is caused by the setting sun hitting Horsetail Fall at the perfect angle to create the illusion of a lava-like stream.
