TAIPEI (TVBS News) — As the 2024 Paris Olympics approach, Minister of Education Cheng Ying-yao (鄭英耀) announced on Monday that the Sports Administration has secured 50 water-cooled portable air conditioners in France to ensure a comfortable environment for athletes starting July 26.

"Cooling can provide our athletes with a relatively comfortable rest environment," said Minister Cheng, noting that the event organizers will equip the athletes' village with an underfloor cooling pipe system.

Minister Cheng highlighted the comprehensive support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, and Ministry of Agriculture, underscoring a collaborative effort to optimize the athletes' performance.

A sports science team has also been deployed to France to provide everything from nutritional support to professional technical guidance. In his concluding remarks, Minister Cheng encouraged the athletes to persist in their endeavors.
