Tornado Reported in Southern Georgia Amid Afternoon Thunderstorms

The National Weather Service said emergency officials have reported a tornado moving across southern Georgia on Thursday, April 23.

Several areas of Georgia were under a tornado warning on Thursday afternoon as a round of thunderstorms drenched the South. The National Weather Service said the tornado moved through Moultrie, Georgia, and was approaching nearby areas.

Weather officials warned people in the area to take cover due to “severe” winds from the storms.
