Alberta Firefighters Battle Blaze at Historic Hotel in Banff
Almost 300 people had to be evacuated in the middle of the night from the historic Mount Royal Hotel in Banff, Alberta, after a fire broke out on Thursday, December 29.
The fire reportedly started from the roof and was spotted by passing police officers at around 2.30am. Nobody was injured.
The hotel was built in 1908, according to its website, and a major fire in 1967 nearly burned down its oldest wing.
