Dogs Prepare for Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Anchorage
The 45th Iditarod sled dog race took off on Saturday, March 4, in Anchorage, Alaska. A total of 73 mushers and their dogs will travel over 1,000 miles to Nome. This video shows one group of dogs moments before starting the race.
Although the ceremony happened on Saturday in Anchorage, the race will actually start on Monday in Fairbanks. The starting point had to be changed due to lack of snow in Alaska’s largest city, according to reports. Credit: Instagram/angeloarthur89 via Storyful
