Elderly Koala Slowly Learns to Walk Again
A koala named Heather has started to walk again after she was found injured on a Tanilba Bay road, unable to walk or climb.
Heather is an elderly koala, according to data found on a microchip on her body, and she took her time to start moving around again.
On Thursday, March 9, the team at Port Stephens Koalas published footage of Heather following a clump of gum leaves used as a kind of bait to encourage her to walk.
“After a couple of days rest and some good food we have made a little progress,” her keeper Sue said. “Let’s hope the improvement continues.” Credit: Port Stephens Koalas via Storyful
