Federal alliance, security forces clash in Kathmandu

Cadres of Federal Alliance and security personnel clashed near Nepal's PM K.P Sharma Oli's official residence at Baluwatar on Tuesday. No casualties have been reported in the scuffle. The anti-constitution protesters, who have been demonstrating at the Nepal's Singh Darbar (administrative center) for two consecutive days, focused at staging the protest at PM's residence. The Prime Minister was not at his residence as protesters marched chanting anti-government slogans towards his residence. The Madhesis and their allies have been staging protests in Nepal for the past six months. Earlier, the community has staged border-centric protest, halting the import and export from India and Nepal. Madhesis want their region, home to half of the country's 28 million people, to become an autonomous state within Nepal and not broken up as envisaged in the new constitution.
