Firefighters Respond to Help Tornado Victims in Garland

People in Garland and Rowlett, Texas, began surveying the damage on Sunday, December 27, after two tornadoes ripped through the area the previous night.

The two tornadoes killed 11 people, according to local media. A tornado that touched down in Rowlett was classified as an EF3 by the National Weather Service, and the tornado in Garland was classified as an EF4 with winds up to 200 miles per hour. The tornado classification system tops at EF5. The Dallas Morning News reported it was only the second EF4 tornado recorded in Dallas county.
