Former Texas Governor Rick Perry Announces Presidential Bid

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry has announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for president. His campaign website went live early on June 4 and a video was posted to his YouTube account announcing the bid. In a video from his website, above, Perry says the US needs a president who “transcends the petty partisanship that we’ve seen in the last few years.”

A version of the YouTube video in question appeared earlier this year, from a Perry PAC. It focuses on Perry’s record of military service and his farming background.

The new version of the video has a different ending, as the footage fades to a Perry President logo, instead of a Rick PAC logo.
