Grass Fires Burn Through Texas Panhandle

Grass fires across the Texas panhandle forced evacuations on Monday, March 6. A fire in Potter County burned through 23,000 acres, threatening homes and forcing the evacuations, according to a report.

A second fire in Ochiltree and Lipscomb counties burned through 40,000 acres and threatened 200 homes, according to a report. The fire forced evacuations in Higgins, but the fire skirted the city itself.
